MOKOH Music is an award-winning sound and music agency from Berlin with strong partners and a global network.
Music and Sound are a matter of gut feeling. But numbers are hiding behind it. In harmonies, in rhythms and in our company history.
Here are some key data about us:
MOKOH Music GmbH was founded in 2010 by Stephan Moritz and Jan-Eric Kohrs in Berlin.
In late 2011, Studio Funk GmbH & Co. KG gets on board as a silent partner, Germany‘s largest and most awarded network for audio productions.
Since 2012 we‘re working within a contractual partnership with BMG,
the fourth largest audio rights management company in the world.
With this partnership, we have acces to the full BMG catalogue containing more than 70.000 artists and far more than 3 million songs and recordings. We choose the most suitable partner for every job from our network of over 1.000 specialists from around the globe.
Since the beginnings we have consulted and worked with over 100 companies from all kinds of sectors.
Internationally we work with the „four-ears-principle“.
This means that we always have a couple of ears out of network from the respective territory to listen in. Because tastes are not only visually different, but also auditorily.
We have won more than 200 national and international creative awards, amongst others Cannes, D&AD, LIAA, NY Festival, ADC for sound design, production and composition.
We‘re especially proud of Germany‘s first and so far only Cannes Grand Prix in the category of radio and audio in 2015.
We are hunter-gatherers for sound. We tap / sound out and canvass the world. From Rio to Tokyo, from Berlin to Cape Town. Always on the hunt. For the new, the unheard of, the unusual, the extraordinary.
The one sound that rounds up our production, the one idea that is missing in our composition, the one copywriter/lyricist who can draw unseen images with words.
Sound and music make our hearts beat. Sometime in seven-eight time. Or syncopated. But this goes too far now. Because music and sound are not rocket science for us, but goosebumps and the right feeling in the tummy.
We think of ourselves as embassadors. As intermediary and consultant between brands, sound and music. To this end we collaborate with a network of sound designers, composers, producers and artists from around the globe.
Our contractual partnership with BMG allows us access to best of their fields and cultural areas. They guarantee authenticity and are our ears into the local market. They have our full trust and give us the same feeling right back.
This is how we match brands with sound designers and artists who didn‘t know before that they were made for each other.
We translate, we transmit and we make sure that a sound is developed which fits perfectly with the brand. Which creates the right feeling in the belly and the right vibration in the heart. Joy and optimism are our catalyst. We think in chances, not in risks. „But we‘ve never done this before!“, sounds fantastic in our ears. „But is this even possible?“, sounds like „Why not!“ In doing so, time we make sure to always re-assess / re-explore the limits of the doable. It‘s sometimes exhausting.
But there is always a benefit / prize. Our mission is to find, to write or to produce the perfect sound, the perfect song for brands.

Besides music production, consulting and research, MOKOH also offers branded partnerships, licensing and sound design and corporate sound.

Composition and production of unique and original music for all media is our passion – weather it’s with a briefing or without. Our composers always hit the right note!
Sound Design
We make sure that your film sounds right, that it hums and buzzes, cracks and clanks – or is sometimes also veeeeeery quiet.
Creative Music Research
There is just one right music for every film – and we will find it for you. Sometimes you have to dive deep to find a pearl, but we love jumping in cold water for you, even when it’s stormy. We’re also very good at metaphors, as you can see!

You want a famous song for your campaign? Not a problem. We’re not afraid of arrogant artists, annoying lawyers or moody record companies and sort that out for you.

Music is our life. And we love working for a living. We find our work-life balance every day anew between the scales and see ourselves as ambassadors and mediators between music and advertising.
